In Houston last night. The driver had been a team doctor for the Houston Oilers. The article says it was an ‘87 930 cabriolet but some pics online look like it was a coupe.

If I recall correctly, the 930's nickname was “the Widowmaker”. They aren’t kidding.

I drove a friend’s 90s 911 - I want to say it was the last year they were air-cooled. Even with only slightly spirited driving, you could feel that rear end getting ready to come around if you put, pardon me, a foot wrong.

Meh, a Subaru 360 is arguably a lot more dangerous... People not knowing their limits are the main problems with the “Windowmaker” or the Carrera GT :)
And too crash like this... WTF, he pushed his limits WAYYYYYY too far...

80's turbo lag is nothing to sneeze at. 930 is no exception.

You definitely have to know what you’re doing to drive one, more than one of the P-car drivers my dad knew that had them did not feel confident driving them at the limit and traded them in.
